Fekete Tiberiu

"In his fascination with the endless resources of both the image and the visual realities, Tiberiu Fekete is equally interested in the most varied media (sculpture, painting, photography, and videoinstalation). He represents everyday, common realities which usually go unnoticed in ways which brings to front their significance, in an inexhaustible novelty. This rediscovered hunger for the concrete and the joy he finds in the investigation of the tangible world are the results of a previous set of experimentations with form. These experiments led to surprising photographic montages, to spontaneity of installations and a certain transparency he plays with in his video works. This attempt of appropriation of reality, important and sufficient by itself, is rendered yet more relevance by a lyrical discourse and an extremely sensitive palette." *

"Artistic commitment has brought back, with an increased degree of complexity, the issue of illusionism, which has always been latent in European art, to the center of the image debate. Tiberiu Fekete, an artist concerned with the unlimited possibilities of the image to invoke and conceal reality, has devoted his research to this complexity of contemporary art, based on combinations of technological supports and appeals to raw reality, and, above all, to the effects of confusing hybridizations, the essential ambiguity of the shift between the two planes of given and constructed reality. Sensory and conceptual manipulation has become the source and motive for his exercises." **
